pressed into service the past is forgotten
a sea of indifference spawned men who
were wise
pressed for an answer he's forgotten his
promise
to protect the earth and to hold up the
sky
it appeared time was up and they asked
for his answer
the question it seemed was so old it grew
rot
he faced them palms up and shrugged in
defiance
compliance he said can never be bought
do you want to be human or some wild
jungle beast on the prowl?
and though your answer's important you
don't have to give it right now
so just dig through your dirt and dust off
your answer
cause to ponder this question will be your
demise
stand where you are yes you've got what

now this hapless young devil felt impaled
on his conscience
he was stuck in the middle and he knew he
was caught
if he tried to buy time they would try him
for treason
his season had ended whether he liked it
or not
do you wanna take credit for the world
that you see all around you?

sent down to drown you
